How do I opt out of PeopleFinders manually?

NOTE: As stated in their Privacy Policy, submitting an opt-out request will block the records PeopleFinders have control over in their database from being shown on their site. This means that they will not remove your information from their database altogether, but will stop displaying it in their search results.

Step 1: Open PeopleFinders’ website

To start the removal process, navigate to PeopleFinders.com.

Step 2: Click on “Do Not Sell My Personal Information”

Scroll the homepage all the way down and click on the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link.

PeopleFinders home page scroll down the page and click on link Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Step 3: Submit your full name and email

Scroll the appearing page down, then enter your full name and a valid email address, tick the confirmation box, solve the CAPTCHA, and click “Send Request.”

Pro tip: We recommend that you create a separate email address that doesn’t disclose your personal information. You will use this email to submit opt-out requests for PeopleFinders and other people-search databases such as Spokeo, Instant Checkmate, CheckPeople, etc. This action will prevent these sites from keeping and possibly displaying the email address that you use for personal and business purposes. You can try using a disposable email address. However, make sure to finish the opt-out process before your email account automatically disappears.

Peoplefinders enter your name and email address - we'll email you a link to the record removal form to complete the process. Enter full name and email, and click send request button

Step 4: Confirm your email address

Find a verification email from PeopleFinders customer service in your inbox, open it, and click the “Click here to fill out the record removal form” button.

Step 5: Complete the opt-out form and submit it

Fill out the appearing form with your personal details. Note that only the fields marked with an asterisk are obligatory. Then tick the agreements box, complete the CAPTCHA, and click “Submit.”

Pro tip: We recommend that you find your profile on PeopleFinders before entering your info into the opt-out form. That way, you’ll be able to submit only the personal data they already know about you without disclosing extra details. To avoid lengthy animations during search, use the Name or State directory in the site footer. It’s also a good idea to save your profile URL so that later you can check if it’s truly gone.

Note that removing your profile from people-search sites does not equal immediate removal from Google and other search engines. The links to your removed profiles can remain visible in Google search results for about two weeks after they have been deleted from a data broker site as it takes time for Google to update its results. You can speed things up by using Google’s outdated content removal tool.
