What is Intelius?
Intelius.com provides unauthorized profiles with information about people, their backgrounds, and connections to other people, places, and organizations. It is one of the biggest existing data brokers with over 20 billion public records.
Intelius is part of PeopleConnect – a network of data brokers and people-search websites. Removing your data from Intelius via PeopleConnect automatically removes it from all the sites operated by the network.
How to remove your information from Intelius.com
In short:
- Access PeopleConnect’s data suppression center suppression.peopleconnect.us/login
- Submit your email address
- Go to our email and click the verification button
- Submit your birthdate
- Submit your full legal name
- Select a matching profile and click “Continue”
- Verify your identity via email or phone if necessary
- Select “Suppress” in the drop-down under “Desired behavior” and save
How do I opt out of Intelius manually?
Step 1. Navigate to Intelius.com
To start the opt-out process, visit Intelius.com.
Step 2. Access their Data Privacy Center
Scroll down the homepage and click the ‘Do not sell or share my personal information’ link.
Step 3: Click on ‘View public data tools’
On the appearing page, click on the ‘View public data tools’ button in the Public Data Tools section.
Step 4: Click on ‘Manage my suppression rules’
Click the ‘Manage my suppression rules’ button in the appearing Suppress Your Public Data box.
Step 5: Submit a valid email address
Once on the PeopleConnect page, enter your email address, check the Terms and Privacy Policy box, and press the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 6: Follow the email verification link
Go to your email inbox, open the message from PeopleConnect, and click the ‘Verify email’ button.
Step 7: Submit your date of birth
Enter your DOB and check the verification box. Then click the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 8: Submit your legal name
Enter your first name, middle name, and last name. Check the box confirming this is your legal name and click ‘Continue’.
Step 9: Select your record
Find a profile that matches your personal information and select it. Then scroll the page all the way down and click the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 10: Click ‘Continue’
The appearing page will display your name and the email you used to access PeopleConnect. Click the ‘Continue’ button.
Note that if the email you used isn’t in PeopleConnect’s database, you will be asked to verify your identity via email or phone number that are listed in your record.
Step 11: Choose ‘Suppress’ in Desired Behavior
The appearing page reveals whether your identity is currently displayed or suppressed on PeopleConnect’s websites. Select ‘Suppressed’ in the dropdown under Desired Behavior and click ‘Save.’
You have completed your record removal process. Your identity should now be displayed as suppressed.
